Because CallExa interfaces with core operating system telephony and real-time overlays, verify these standard configurations if caller ID or notifications are interrupted.

Android Setup

1. Default Phone & Dialer Setup

To enable full-screen incoming caller ID and real-time spam screening, CallExa must be selected as your default phone handler.

Open your device Settings > Apps > Default Apps.
Select 'Phone app' and choose 'CallExa'.
If prompted, also select CallExa as your default 'Caller ID & Spam app'.
Launch CallExa to confirm permissions status shows green.
Display Over Apps

2. Caller ID & Spam Overlay Permission

Allows CallExa to display the call reason, caller verification badge, and spam score over incoming and active calls.

Open device Settings > Apps > Special App Access > Display Over Other Apps.
Scroll down to find 'CallExa' and toggle 'Allow display over other apps' to ON.
Restart the CallExa app to test the incoming call overlay.
Samsung / Xiaomi / OnePlus

3. Battery Optimization & Background Execution

Aggressive OEM battery savers can terminate background identification services. Prevent missed caller IDs with this 30-second fix.

Go to Settings > Apps > CallExa > Battery.
Change battery profile from 'Optimized' to 'Unrestricted' (or 'Don't optimize').
On Xiaomi / MIUI / HyperOS: Enable 'Autostart' under App Permissions.
Lock CallExa in your recent apps tray to ensure background services stay live.
Call Audio

4. Microphone, Audio & CallKit (iOS / Android)

Ensure crystal-clear audio and uninterrupted notifications during CallExa in-app voice calls.

iOS: Settings > CallExa > Ensure 'Microphone' and 'Background App Refresh' are toggled ON.
Android: Ensure 'Record Audio' and 'Modify Audio Settings' are granted in Settings > Apps > CallExa > Permissions.
Ensure Do Not Disturb (DND) allows emergency calls from CallExa contacts.

Account & Data Deletion Policy

You have the complete right to permanently delete your CallExa account and all associated telephony logs, caller ID history, and verification tokens.
